Quick answer: Both are Canadian mail-order dispensaries and neither is a provincially licensed retailer. The clearest practical difference is payment — Bud Cargo accepts credit card as well as Interac e-Transfer, while Herb Approach publishes Interac e-Transfer and Bitcoin only. Both ship free over $150. Herb Approach lists a deeper extracts range and carries accessories; Bud Cargo has a broader ounce-deal and half-ounce selection in flower.
We run Bud Cargo, so treat this as what it is — our own comparison. Everything below about Herb Approach is taken from what they publish on their own site, and everything about us is checkable on this one. Details on both sides change; verify anything that matters to you before ordering.

If you buy concentrates seriously, their extracts menu is deeper than ours. Rosin, crumble, terp sauce and THC diamonds are all categories they list and we do not. They also sell accessories, so you can add papers, a grinder or a rig to the same order rather than sourcing them separately. And if you want to pay in Bitcoin, they take it and we do not.
Payment is the big one. We accept credit cards, which for most people is simply easier than arranging an Interac e-Transfer, and considerably easier than buying Bitcoin first. If you have ever abandoned a cannabis order because the payment process was awkward, that is the difference.
On flower, our sizing is more flexible. Half ounces are available as a weight option on 49 products, so you can buy 14 grams of a strain rather than choosing between 7 and 28. Our ounce deals and mix & match bundles (20% off eighths, 15% off quarters, 5% off ounces) are built for buying volume across several strains at once.
We also publish our flat shipping rates rather than showing them only at checkout, which makes the total cost easier to work out in advance.
Both ship Canada-wide by post with tracking, both use discreet packaging, both offer free shipping over $150, and — this matters — neither is a provincially licensed retail store. Both operate as mail-order dispensaries outside the provincial retail framework. Anyone claiming otherwise about either business is wrong.
If you are comparing more than these two, the checkable signals are the same everywhere: are shipping costs published up front, is packaging described specifically, are reviews verifiable through a third party rather than self-hosted, and is the legal position stated honestly. Our guides on how to choose an online dispensary and how to vet dispensary reviews go through that in detail.

As published on their site at the time of writing, Herb Approach accepts Interac e-Transfer and Bitcoin. Bud Cargo accepts Interac e-Transfer and credit card. Payment options change, so confirm on the checkout page before you order.
Both offer free shipping on orders over $150. Bud Cargo publishes flat rates below that threshold — $25 to British Columbia, Alberta, Manitoba and Saskatchewan, and $30 to the rest of Canada. Herb Approach does not publish a flat rate figure, so compare at checkout.
Neither Herb Approach nor Bud Cargo is a provincially licensed retail store. Both are mail-order dispensaries operating outside the provincial retail framework. If buying from a licensed retailer matters to you, your provincial cannabis retailer is the place to look.
It depends on the category. Herb Approach lists a deeper extracts range — rosin, crumble, budder, wax, terp sauce and THC diamonds — and carries accessories, which Bud Cargo does not. Bud Cargo carries roughly 1,500 listings with a strong ounce-deal and half-ounce range in flower.
Yes. Half ounces (14 grams) are available as a weight option on 42 flower products, alongside eighths, quarters and full ounces. Herb Approach does not publish a half-ounce count.
